With one night still to play, 4 playoff spots are yet to be decided across boys and girls soccer.
On the girls side, Conestoga Valley has Section 1 locked up. Hempfield and Manheim Township are still vying for the 2nd and 3rd place spots. Ephrata has sewn up Section 2, ELCO Section 3. Lampeter-Strasburg, Donegal and Pequea Valley have also punched their tickets to the playoffs.
But for those that love playoff math, Section 1 is where you want to be. If Conestoga Valley and Hempfield would tie in points it would go to the 4th tiebreaker and Conestoga Valley has a +3 goal differential in section play. For Hempfield girls to clinch 2nd place Hempfield girls need a win or a Manheim Township loss. For Manheim Township girls to clinch 2nd place Manheim Township girls need a win and a Hempfield loss or tie. OR Manheim Township could lock up second with a tie and a Hempfield loss (Manheim Township clinches second via head to head matchup tiebreaker in that case).
On the boys side, Section 2 is still up in the air. E-town boys will clinch Section 2 with a win tonight over Solanco. A loss or tie by Etown and Ephrata wins Section 2. Hempfield and Lancaster Mennonite have Sections 1 and 3 in the bag, respectively. Other qualifiers are ELCO, Lancaster Catholic, Manheim Township and Warwick.
Complete brackets will be posted on Friday, including game locations and times.
