2026 Wrestling Championship Wrap Up

The 2026 edition of the Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL League Wrestling Championships were contested at Manheim Township this weekend.

In the boys team race Donegal held a mere 2.5 point lead over ELCO heading in to the finals. The Raiders narrowed it to 1.5 as Donegal held on to win their first ever LL League Wrestling Championship. For the girls, it came down to the final bout of the night as Manheim Township out lasted Hempfield.

Twenty six weight class champions were crowned as boys and girls wrestled side by side in the late afternoon finals.

The Kenneth W. Ober Outstanding Wrestler of the boys tournament, as voted by the coaches, was Sam Wolford of Northern Lebanon. On the girls side the coaches voted to ELCO’s Kylee Trostle to be the Jon Mitchell Outstanding Wrestler. Presenting both awards is Mr. Mitchell himself.

Joey Gallo of Hempfield won the Shorty Hitchcock Most Falls in the Least Accumulated Time, racking up in 4 in 3:09. Fellow Black Knight Kayden Ellsworth notched 4 falls of her own in 6:04 to win the girls award.
