The field is set for the 2021 Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster Boys Tennis Team Championships.  It feels great to have spring sports back!

Congratulations to Section Champions Penn Manor, Ephrata and Lancaster Catholic.  As the top AAA and AA teams, Penn Manor and Lancaster Catholic are placed directly in Monday’s Semifinals and will host.  The preliminary matches are Cedar Crest vs Manheim Central at Donegal and Ephrata vs Donegal at McCaskey.  Both prelim matches will start at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 23rd.  Semifinals are Monday, April 26 and Finals at Donegal on Tuesday, April 27.

As competitions gets underway, the LL League is still committed to keeping athletes and fans safe. Below are the guidelines for mask use at each LL School for the 2021 Spring season.  Please know that each school sets its own guidelines, which are subject to change without notice.

The 2021 Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL League Basketball Championship game will be held today at Manheim Township, both the boys and girls games will be live streamed.

The girls game gets underway at 1 p.m. as Section 1 Champion Hempfield takes on Section 4 Champion Lancaster Catholic.  The game will be streamed live via host Manheim Township’s Youtube stream.  Additionally, LLHoops.com intends to stream the game live with commentary.  

The boys will take the court at 4 p.m. with Section 1 Champion Hempfield playing Section 2 Champion Lebanon.  Two options for viewing will again be available, host Manheim Township’s Youtube stream or LLHoops.com with commentary.

Delayed by snow, the Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL League Boys Bowling Singles Championships were held at Leisure Lanes today.

And Just as the temperature outside started to heat up, so did Warwick’s Tyler Miller.  He averaged 200.8 through the first 5 games, sitting in 7th place.  Conestoga Valley’s Robbie Jack lead after round one with a total of 1106.  Miller poured it on in the second round, averaging 266 across 4 games.  That is impressive but pales in comparison to the PERFECT GAME he threw in the 9th and final game before heading to the step ladder finals.  There he beat Daniel Eberle of Elizabethown to take home the 2021 Championship.

The 2021 Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL League Basketball Semifinals will be held on Thursday, 2/25.

• Girls Semifinal: Lancaster Mennonite at Hempfield 5:30 p.m.
• Girls Semifinal: Cocalico at Lancaster Catholic 7:00 p.m.
• Boys Semifinal: Lancaster Catholic at Hempfield 7:30 p.m.
• Boys Semifinal: Cocalico at Lebanon 7:00 p.m.

The 2021 Edition of the Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL League Basketball Championships will take place this week.  In some cases exactly which teams will be a part of that is still to be determined.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, and in keeping with modifications made to other LL League tournaments this year, only Section Champions will compete in the tournaments.  In the case of a tie for the section championship, a tiebreaker game will be played.  So far the following tiebreaker games are needed:

• Boys Section 1:  Hempfield vs McCaskey at Manheim Township, 2/23 at 6:00 p.m.
• Boys Section 2:  Lebanon vs Warwick at Cedar Crest, 2/23 at 7:00 p.m.
• Girls Section 2:  Elizabethtown vs Ephrata at Cocalico, 2/22 at 6:00 p.m.

Section 3 Boys and Section 4 Girls are also still up in the air.  Potential tiebreaker games hinge on results of games to be played on 2/22.  Those tiebreaker games would be played on 2/23.

It was a day of come from behind victories as Penn Manor took home the trophy in the Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL League Team Championships.

The Comets came from behind to top Elizabethtown in the semifinals, and Northern Lebanon did the same to Cocalico to punch their ticket to the finals.

In the finals, Northern Lebanon jumped out to the lead, but Penn Manor did the come from behind thing again.

The Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL League Basketball Championships will be held next week in an abbreviated format.  Due to the difficulty of scheduling around COVID shut downs and weather, only section games will be used to determine section champions (cross-over games will not count).

In the event of a tie for the section championship, a tiebreaker game will be played at a neutral site.  

The format for the league playoffs is as follows (boys and girls will play on the same dates).

Quarterfinals, Tuesday, 2/23.  Boys will be Section 5 Champion at Section 4 Champion.  Girls will be Section 2 Champion at Section 3 Champion.

Semifinals, Thursday, 2/25.  Boys will be the quarterfinal winner at Section 1 Champion and Section 3 Champion at Section 2 Champion.  Girls will be the quarterfinal winner at Section 4 Champion and Section 5 Champion at Section 1 Champion.

Finals, Saturday, 2/27.  Girls play first at Manheim Township at 1 p.m., boys will play at 4 p.m.
