Basketball Playoff Details

The Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL League Basketball Championships will be held next week in an abbreviated format.  Due to the difficulty of scheduling around COVID shut downs and weather, only section games will be used to determine section champions (cross-over games will not count).

In the event of a tie for the section championship, a tiebreaker game will be played at a neutral site.  

The format for the league playoffs is as follows (boys and girls will play on the same dates).

Quarterfinals, Tuesday, 2/23.  Boys will be Section 5 Champion at Section 4 Champion.  Girls will be Section 2 Champion at Section 3 Champion.

Semifinals, Thursday, 2/25.  Boys will be the quarterfinal winner at Section 1 Champion and Section 3 Champion at Section 2 Champion.  Girls will be the quarterfinal winner at Section 4 Champion and Section 5 Champion at Section 1 Champion.

Finals, Saturday, 2/27.  Girls play first at Manheim Township at 1 p.m., boys will play at 4 p.m.

2021 OAL LL League Wrestling Champions Presented by LAW

The 2021 edition of the Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL Wrestling Championships, presented by LAW is in the books.  Manheim Township came away with the team title after putting 5 wrestlers atop the podium (including sweeping the first 4 weight classes).

Kamdyn Williams was the Shorty Hitchcock Most Falls in the Least Amount of Time award winner, and Griffin Gonzalez was voted the Kenneth W. Ober Outstanding Wrestler.

2021 OAL LL League Rifle Championships

The 2021 Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL League Rifle Championships were conducted remotely with each school shooting at their home range.  Scores were then compiled at Conestoga Valley.  Anna Haldeman of Manheim Central came out on top, scoring 200 with 2 centers narrowly beat out Amanda Wolfe of Garden Spot, also scoring 200, but only 1 center.

In team scoring Ephrata won by the narrowest of margins as well, scoring 988 to central’s 987.  Garden Spot won the regular season title with a record of 13-1.

2021 OAL LL Wrestling Championships presented by LAW

The 2021 Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster LL Wrestling Championships, presented by LAW, will be held Saturday, February 13th at Manheim Township.

COVID-19 restrictions mean that each weight class is limited to 8 wrestlers.  Seeding will take place Thursday, 2/11 with seeds posted on ll-league.com after all weights are seeded.

The tournament will be in 2 pods, with the first 7 weight classes starting at 10 a.m. and wrestling through the finals (106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145).  The 6 heavier weight classes will start wrestling at 4 p.m. and wrestle through the finals (152, 160, 172, 189, 215, 285).

No spectators will be permitted, however the entire tournament will be streamed on Manheim Township’s Youtube Live Stream.  The Youtube live stream will be a static shot of all three mats at once.  The tournament results will be live on TrackWrestling.  From the TrackWrestling page fans can pay $5 for a live stream of the action, which features dedicated camera feeds of each individual mat for fans to choose from.

Changes in Basketball Section Standing Calculations

In response to the ever changing landscape of interscholastic athletics and the unprecedented challenges caused by COVID and now the weather, the Lancaster Lebanon League Executive Committee, at the recommendation of the L-L League Basketball Sports Chair, has approved modifications that will help alleviate the pressure of rescheduling games. Effective immediately, the following shall apply:

Crossover games will NOT count towards a team’s Section/League record.  Section games only will impact standings and determine champions.  Ties will be determined by criteria (Head to Head, D3 Power Ranking.

The expectation of the L-L League is for all crossover games to be played.  The order of priority when rescheduling games: Section games, Crossover games, Non-League Games.

2021 Winter Post Season

Details are still being hammered out, but the Lancaster-Lebanon League does intend to hold league championships for winter sports.  All dates and details are subject to change.

February 5th and 6th at Wilson High School, limited field in each event

Rifle
February 13th, teams shoot at home with scores to be compiled at Conestoga Valley

Wrestling
February 13th at Manheim Township 
8 qualifiers per weight class
No spectators, matches will be streamed on TrackWrestling
