2015 Cross Country Championships

The 2015 edition of the League Cross Country Championships are in the books.  On the boys side, it was more of the same; for the girls, some new faces.  Ladies first:

Cocalico sophomore Jamie Zamrin won, breaking the tape in 19:19.9.  Senior Samantha Shields of Warwick was second, senior Molly Conrad of Hempfield rounded out the top 3.  Full results courtesy Motion Timing here:  2015 Girls XC Results.

In team standings, Manheim Township nabbed the top spot, putting 5 in the top 25 and scoring 78.  Hempfield followed with 115 and Donegal was third with 130.  Full team results here:  2015 Girls XC Team Results

On the boys side, Junior Nathan Henderson of McCaskey shaved nearly 45 seconds off of last year’s winning time, crossing the line in 15:47.8.  Junior Zach Lefever of Ephrata broke 16 minutes as well; Senior Justin Yurchak of Hempfield rounded out the top 3.  Full results are here:  2015 Boys XC Results

Hempfield retained the top spot in the team standings, placing 3 in the top 10 and SEVEN in the top 25 scoring a scant 52 points.  Penn Manor was runner up with 117, narrowly out pacing Cedar Crest in third with 121.  Full team results here:  2015 Boys XC Team Results

Fall Semifinals Set

Tuesday October 20th is a big day for LL League Playoffs:

  • Girls Cross Country Championship, 4:00 start at Ephrata
  • Boys Cross Country Championship, 4:45 at Ephrata
  • Field Hockey Semifinals at Penn Manor:
    • Donegal vs Hempfield at 5:00
    • Penn Manor vs Conestoga Valley at 7:30
  • Girls Soccer Semifinals at Manheim Central:
    • Elizabethtown vs Manheim Township at 5:30
    • Hempfield vs Conestoga Valley at 7:30
  • Boys Soccer Semifinals at Manheim Township:

2015 Soccer Playoffs Are Set

It came down to the last slate of games, and several tiebreaker rules needed to be used to determine seedings, but the 2015 edition of the Lancaster Lebanon League Soccer Tournaments are set:

Ladies first, all quarterfinal games are Saturday, October 17th:

  • Section 2 Champion vs Section 3 Champion Donegal, 10:30 am at Penn Manor
  • Section 1 Champion Manheim Township vs Section 3 3rd place Annville Cleona 12:30 pm at Penn Manor
  • Section 3 Runner Up ELCO vs Section 1 3rd place Hempfield, 10:30 am at Manheim Central
  • Section 1 Runner Up Conestoga Valley vs Section 2 Runner Up Cocalico, 12:30 pm at Manheim Central

Semifinals are a double header on October 20th at Manheim Central, game times are 5:30 and 7:30.
Finals are October 22nd at Warwick at 5:30

The regular season is just about done, and all the spots for the LL League Field Hockey Championships are locked up.

Girls Tennis Flight Tournament Finals Are Set

The 2015 of the Girls Tennis Flight Tournament will conclude Monday, October 12th at Conestoga Valley.  Finals will be contested in all singles and doubles flights as well as 3rd, 5th and 7th place playback matches in Flight 1 AAA Singles and 3rd and 5th place playback matches in Flight 1 AA Singles.

Two rounds of singles competition and one round of doubles are in the books for the 2015 Girls Tennis Flight tournaments.  The action resumes Saturday at Conestoga Valley.  Updated Brackets:

Golf Champions

The first league championship of the 15-16 school year was held at Tanglewood Manor Golf Course on September 28th.

Dom Oliveri of Conestoga Valley came in at -2 to win the boys competition.  On the girls side, 18 wasn’t enough as Manheim Township’s Adelyn Deery and Lancaster Mennonite’s Grace Stillman were tied at +7.  Deery came away with gold in a playoff.

In the team scoring, Manheim Township picked up their 5th consecutive and 16th overall Lancaster Lebanon League Championship trophy.
